I guess if you tell me what the goal of this flash sale is then i'll tell u if its successful.
Goal: Reach a broad array of players....Fail. Time frame too short
Goal: Create a sense of urgency with limited supply.... Success. But to top up and not have the item u topped up for be gone makes it hard for a person to top up again in the future
Goal: Give paying players some sort of opportunity to edge the non paying players... Debatable. I don't know if the reward is worth the cost. So either adjust the Vegas factor of maybe you'll get something good for your money or maybe you won't on the wrath of mars, moonlight boxes, or might of mars boxes or lose participation from the middle and low spenders. But im sure you have the stats, im making an assumption on consumer behavior.
My thought? Who says a flash sale has to be a few minutes/hours long. You can flash it for 1-2 days long. The active players still get a shot at it and can make the decision for themselves.
I guess if you understand your clients as well as you do these points are all moot.
