China

China, one of the oldest civilizations in the World, is believed to have established the state system in B.C. 4600, with a recorded of history of over 3000 years. Even though the Chinese public claims that China has a 5000 year history, it is universally acknowledged around the world that only 3000 years of history can be traced back according to historical data. Now it is ascertained that Chinese civilization originated from the northern part of the Yellow River Valley. In B.C. 5 C, China entered the Feudal Age. Around B.C. 2 C, China had become a united multiethnic Imperial Country with an abundant culture. Around B.C. 1 C, China had become one of the richest Countries in the World. According to history, China experienced glorious developmental stages such as the Han, Sui, Tang, and Ming Dynasties. In 13 C A.D., China reached its peak and became the most flourishing trading and cultural center in the world. China has made enormous contributions to scientific development with its developed agriculture and handicraft industries, and the four great inventions including the Compass, Papermaking, Printing and Gunpowder.

 

Famous Chinese City

China’s  Capital:

Xi’an, the capital of ancient China, is one of the four famous ancient capitals in the world. In Chinese history, it is the most influential capital with the longest history, most Dynasties used to build their capitals there. According to Shih Chi, it is honored as the "Heavenly Country”, which is regarded as the cradle of the Chinese civilization.

Four Famous Cities:

Taiyuan, surrounded by mountains on 3 sides with a river on the fourth side, is considered as one of the most famous and most beautiful cities in Northern China. Because of its location, it is also the focus of many battles.

 

Changsha is located on the South Central plains of China, close to the Xiang River. It is a historical city.

 

Dali City, situated on the west side of the Yunnan Province, possesses one of the Country's seven freshwater lakes, Erhai Lake. There are big embankments along the banks of the lake. It is also a famous historic cultural city of China, once the capital city of the Nanzhao Regime and the Dali Regime in ancient China, a city of picturesque scenery.

 

Xining is the gateway city to the Tibetan Plateau. Its location is very important. It is the transportation hub and trade city between the Tibetan Plateau and the Central Plains.

 

Rome

Rome was located on the banks of Tiberus River, and is one of the earliest and most influential empires known to humanity. According to legend, Rome was founded by twin brothers Romulus and Remus who were descendants of a great Trojan prince. Born of the Gods and half divine, the Grand King of the Gods feared that they might usurp the throne. After decrying that they are to be executed, they were saved and raised by a mystical she-wolf. When they were old enough, they created their own city.  The brothers soon grew jealous of one another and after a fight, Romulous came out victorious. Rome’s people are known to be fast learners and very ambitious in nature.

Ancient Rome is usually referred to the civilization rising from the central part of the Italian Peninsula. After the period of the Roman Kingdom and Roman Republic, it became the Roman Empire with its territory stretching over Asia, Europe, and Africa around the 1ST century.

Capital City:

Rome is the largest and most populated city of Ancient Rome. The city of Rome is located on the central-western portion of the Italian Peninsula on the Tiber River. It was the Capital City of the Ancient Rome. Since the 2nd Century AD, Rome has been the seat of the Papacy and after the end of Byzantine domination in the eighth century it became the capital of the Papal States, which lasted until 1870. Rome is famous in the world for its contributions to subjects such as Architecture, Art, Culture, Politics, Literature, Law, Philosophy, War Strategies, and Religion.

Milan is a city in Italy and the capital of the region of Lombardy and of the province of Milan. During the Romantic period, Milan was a major cultural centre in Europe, attracting several artists, composers and important literary figures. The city remains one of Europe's main transportation and industrial hubs.

 

Belgrade is located in the center of the Balkans. The city lies at the confluence of the Sava and Danube Rivers, where the Pannonian Plain meets the Balkans. Its name in Serbian translates to the White city.

 

Berlin is in the center of Europe and is the gateway between Eastern and Western Europe. It is an important transport hub. In the 17th century it was also an important political, economic, and cultural center.

 

Madrid is the capital and largest city of Spain. The city is located on the River Manzanares in the center of both the country and the Community of Madrid. It's capital has the highest elevation in Europe, nicknamed as the "Door of Europe".
 

Persia

Persia is a well known name to us. The territory of ancient Persia is almost equivalent to modern day Iran. In fact, in history Persia is only a powerful and prosperous tribe in the southwest of ancient Iran. At about 500 BC, King Cyrus united all of Persia and established the great Persian Empire. However instead of Persian, the name “Iran” was used natively which is also a better reflection of its multi-ethnic culture.

In B.C. 2000, several tribes living around the Iranian Plateau and Indus Valley were united under the name Aryan. In an attempt to find a new water source and better farmlands, the Aryans traveled for many years. Around 2000 BC, the Aryan tribe traveled and settled in Persia. Around 500 BC, King Cyrus united all of Persia and established the great Persian Empire.  King Cyrus overtook the lands from the Agean Sea all the way to the Indian River.  After the death of King Cyrus, Persian Kings continue to lead the Aryans in conquering the Mediterranean regions.

 

Famous Persian City

Babylon is on the Mesopotamia plains. Mesopotamia is also rumored to be the "Garden of Eden" in the Bible. Babylon is one of the first cities on this plain. It developed the first set of laws and is the cradle of Western Civilization.

Baghdad comes from Persian and means "Gift of Gods". It is located on the banks of the Tigeris and Euphrates Rivers. A major transportation hub, Baghdad is also the most important cultural and trade center in the Middle East.

 

Tehran is the capital and largest city of Iran. Tehran is a sprawling city at the foot of the Tochal Mountain Range with an immense network of highways unparalleled in Western Asia.

 

Carmana is the biggest south-eastern city in Persia, a major trade center and the founding place of Fire-worship.

 

Kabul is the capital and largest city of Afghanistan, located in the Kabul Province. It is an economic and cultural center, situated above sea level in a narrow valley, wedged between the Hindu Kush Mountains along the Kabul River. Kabul is over 3,000 years old. It is an important city on the "Silk road".

Egypt

When God gave the Nile River to Egypt, he also gave life to the Eqyptian people. Egypt is south of the Mediterranean Sea and a territory that great powers frequently fight over. With the exception of the moist and fertile area around the Nile River, most of Egypt is a dry and barren desert. Egypt was united over 3000 years ago and started the New Dynasty ruled by the Pharaohs. Egypt created one of the earliest and brightest civilizations in World history, and all sons and daughters of the Nile are proud of it.

 

Famous Egyptian City

Capital City:

Cairo, the Capital of Egypt and transportation hub for Africa, Europe, and Asia, Cairo, with the Nile river passing through, is known as the "Mother of Cities". The Arabians call it conquer. It is beautiful and the center of politics, economy, and trade for the Middle East, and also the largest city in Egypt and the Arabian World.

Asmara is located on the most northern part of the East African Plateau, is known as the "City in the Clouds". On its north-east corner are high cliffs, even eagles have trouble flying up there.

 

Khartoum means "Elephant's Trunk". The different branches of the Nile River meet here and flows north which create an area that resembles the end of an elephant's trunk.

 

N'Djamena is an important merchant and transportation hub for the Sahara Desert.

 

The biggest harbor in Egypt, Alexandria is an extension of the Nile River and is located close to the Mediterranean Sea. It is also a political, cultural, and economic center.
